It features a true horde of zombies chasing a bunch of our favorite primates up the Statue of Liberty on the strip of Las Vegas. Co-creator and artist DaFu Yu went wild with the zombies on this one!
From the Previews catalog solicitation:
"Rex the Golden Retriever needs something that's in Las Vegas, but the city is infested with zombies. You think that will stop him? Don't worry, Rex has a plan...and it might involve gorillas."
And just a bit of a content warning on this one: this issue earns its TEEN+ rating, okay?
This is the lead-in to the final showdown with the evil Major and his soldiers coming in issue #4.
The story is by Rob Anderson, pencils and inks are by DaFu Yu, with interior colors by Juan Romera, letters/design by E.T. Dollman, and Paul Allor editing. The covers are by DaFu with colors by Kevin Volo.
The series is published by Big Dog Ink and will be at your Local Comic Shop!
This is the second of the four issues in the mini-series that follows Rex the hyper-intelligent Golden Retriever and his growing pack as they make their way to Rex's human...who is being held prisoner in a military bunker.
The story picks up from last issue's cliffhanger. Then, we'll see what the animals do when they find a small girl trapped in a car by rotters. Those who got a kick out of the squirrels--or the gorillas--from last issue are going to enjoy what happens next!
But it's all building to something even bigger in issue #3. (Issue #3 is in the current Diamond Previews catalog for pre-order. Let your Local Comic Book shop know that you want the issue now, to make sure you can get a copy.)
Don't miss the comic that Newsarama gave a "9 out of 10" rating!

And if the zombies weren't bad enough, Rex and his pack are now also being pursued by an aggressive group of primates from a zoo!
"It's going to be dogs versus apes versus zombies in the first issue...and then things are going to get REALLY crazy from there," said writer Rob Anderson.
REX, ZOMBIE KILLER tells the story of a hyper-intelligent Golden Retriever named Rex, a sign language-speaking gorilla, and a small pack of animals making a perilous cross-country journey to find safety...and a home.
"Rex is trying to reach the doctor who raised him, but the doctor's been relocated to an underground military bunker in Nevada," Anderson said. "So even if they make it across a zombie-infested California, there's not necessarily a cozy fireplace waiting for them."
"We're extremely pleased to have REX, ZOMBIE KILLER back on the stands," said Big Dog Ink Publisher Tom Hutchinson. "The double-sized one-shot received acclaim from both horror and comics outlets, and fans have been asking for more, so here it comes!"
REX, ZOMBIE KILLER #1 is written by Rob Anderson (MY LITTLE PONY: SPIKE MICRO, GREAT ZOMBIES IN HISTORY) with interior and cover art by DaFu Yu (GRIMM FAIRY TALES, WONDERLAND ANNUAL), interior colors by Juan Romera, letters and design by E.T. Dollman, cover colors by Kevin Volo, and is edited by Paul Allor (TMNT: FUGITOID MICRO, ORC GIRL).
Issue #1 of the bi-monthly four-issue miniseries ships on October 30, 2013, just in time for Halloween! Each issue will be a full-color, 28-page, standard trim comic book, priced at $3.50, and may be pre-ordered at your local comic shop. (Diamond Previews Order Code: AUG13 1097) It is rated TEEN+ (13 & up) for mature themes and zombie violence.
